Sadly, I think we have already lost this current generation. Or perhaps, we are well on the way to losing it. Our Church kids of today do not view "sin" as we view it. It has become acceptable to move in and live with your girl/boy friend before marriage. Then, if that one doesn`t work out, try another one down the road until you find the right one you can and want to live with. It is done all the time with few ramifications attached to it. They don`t see themselves as "lost" in this situation and sadly I don`t see parents having that attitude either. It`s almost as if parents hope their children will come back before its too late, but not realize that should their child die prior to "coming back" or should we dare to say "repent" for their sin of rebellion at the Word given to guide us throughout our lives, then they are lost to God`s Kingdom. Harsh? Perhaps. But what I see is what I see and if our current moral values don`t line up to God`s Word, then we have to go with what He has already told us will be His reality. Rebellion will not be overlooked, Harsh or not. Unrepentant sin will be answered to. Sad to say, these facts don`t seem to exist in people`s minds today.
How much people miss when they decide to just go their own way. How wonderful God`s provision of love is, when we simply do our best to live for Him, and try our best to follow His Word.
Oh well, sorry. I`m getting to preaching now and this reply is long enough.
Published By Kervan (Chalmerspecialk@aol.com) - February 2 2009 16:49:45 Isn`t that just like satan, to convince someone to justify the sin instead of repenting. I believe in the truth and the truth will set us free. You preached the truth and it is up to Haggard (and America) to humble themselves in the sight of the Lord and surrender to God.

GOOD MORNING DONNA,I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU. SIN HIDES GOD`S FACE FROM AND HE WILL NOT HEAR OUR PRAYERS! THIS IS BRINGING A BLOT ON THE TRUE CHRISTIANS. WE ARE ALREADY MADE TO LOOK BAD IN THE BIAS MEDIA. YES,CHRISTIANS MUST STAND UP FOR WHAT IS RIGHT!! WE CAN NOT COMPROMISE AT ALL! THESE KIND OF PEOPLE HAVE FREE PRESS TO AIR THEIR THOUGHTS,BUT NOT THE REAL CHRISTIANS!! I AM SOOO GLAD THAT GOD IS IN CONTROL!!! THIS IS NO TIME TO PLAY AROUND. JESUS IS COMING SOON!!! I AM PRAYING FOR YOU,MY SISTER AND I APPRECIATE YOU STANDING UP FOR THE TRUTH!!! GOD BLESS YOU GREATLY!!!!! YOUR FRIEND PAT
I definitely agree with you, and the scriptures you offered up. Also about our propensity. I especially relished your reference to axe murderer. And God said "if your best friend jumped off a bridge into a shallow creek, would you jump too?" Love you, Jackie
I think you are right on with this article! It is Scriptural, sound, and straightforward. Now whether readers will want to embrace it or not is another question. I know that there are many churches (who do not follow the clear teachings of the Bible) that currently embrace alternative life styles; however, that doesn`t make it right. The Word continually exhorts us to be holy and, clearly, this type of thinking is not holy.
Oprah has impressed some baby Christians to think that her spiritual talk is in accordance with the Word. Fortunately, those who are off of the "milk" and on to the "meat" of the Word cannot be duped by her ideals. Erwin Lutzer has done a great series on Oprah and her philosophies.
Your article is one of many reasons that we as Christians must war against the Hate Crime Act.

To mortify all corrupt affections;
It is our duty to mortify our members which incline to the things of the world. Mortify them, kill them, suppress them, as weeds or vermin which spread and destroy all about them. Continual opposition must be made to all corrupt workings, and no provision made for carnal indulgences. Occasions of sin must be avoided: the lusts of the flesh, and the love of the world; and covetousness, which is idolatry; love of present good, and of outward enjoyments. It is necessary to mortify sins,
because if we do not kill them, they will kill us. The gospel changes the higher as well as the lower powers of the soul, and supports the rule of right reason and conscience, over appetite and passion. There is now no difference from country, or conditions and circumstances of life. It is the duty of every one to be holy, because Christ is a Christian`s All, his only Lord and Saviour, and all his hope and happiness. (Col 3:12-17)
Published By Barbara (firstname.lastname@example.org) - January 28 2009 23:16:43 Hi Donna,
Ted Haggard obviously needs healing from Christ. He must not listen to Oprah
Winfrey!s new age philosophy about accepting what he is.
Wow, I just heard a little bit about it on the news this afternoon. I thought it was some politician until my husband said that he was some preacher. He told me that his wife was staying with him and that they were starting some sort of business. I`m speachless at his reaction to his own sin and the reaction of his wife. Self deception is in there somewhere, I think. This definately has to come into the light. Maybe he will read it and "come to himself".
Love to you and Psalm 91 protection for you!!!
I agree with you completely that Mr. Haggard needs to repent of his sin and be cleansed by the Lord. Otherwise He`s only fooling himself, and, input from Oprah is the last thing anyone needs. But, your article is very strong against homosexualism, and though it is very correct, newspapers are now at the point in their degradation where they will no longer accept articles by which some people may be offended, and stop buying their paper. I guess you`ll have to author your articles in a manner where they`ll express the truth, yet appear to the news media that they`re politically correct, and I don`t know how you can do that. So, keep on telling the truth, and the Lord will take care of how it gets spread.

IT`S THINGS LIKE THIS THAT MAKES THE TRUE CHURCH LOOK BAD. IT`S AN ABOMINATION TO GOD! WE ALL REAP WHAT WE SOW. GOD IS NO RESPECTOR OF PERSONS. WHERE IS THE REMORSE??? I AM SO BOTHERED AT WHAT I SEE IN THE CHURCHES IN AMERICA! MY HUSBAND AND I TRAVEL AND WE SEE SO MANY THINGS THAT IS NOT OF GOD. WE CRY OUT AGAINST IT AND ALSO WARN THE PEOPLE..SO MANY CHURCHES WANT OT LIKE EACH OTHER, TO DO WHAT IS POPULAR..WE MUST SAY "GOD,HAVE MERCY ON AMERICA", NOT GOD BLESS AMERICA..GOD WILL NOT GO AGAINST HIS WORD..THANK GOD, HE IS IN CONTROL!!!!!!! GOD BLESS YOU MY PRECIOUS SISTER FOR YOUR STAND FOR THE TRUTH....YOU ARE A GREAT BLESSING...I PRAYED FOR YOUR TRIP, I HOPE IT WENT WELL....PAT
I did see part of the interview with Oprah today....It made me sick so I turn it off. Oprah also had on a couple of weeks ago a couple of ministers - not Evangelistic, who said that Homosexual is a gift from God. David and I
could not believe what we had heard. May God have mercy on this Nation.
You are right on with your thoughts, Donna, re Ted Haggard.... I`m afraid for him....
