Jesus Obtained Reconciliation Between God and His Creation
The one question incredulous people ask over and over again is, "If there is a God, why does He allow sickness and disease? Why does He allow tragedy to strike good, honest, decent people?" The mere thought that there would be a God who would orchestrate wars and inflict pain and suffering on mankind causes them to come to the conclusion that there must not be a God.
The answer is very simple --- there most definitely is a God and He does none of the above. He does not orchestrate sickness or disease. He is not the author of misery. Godīs intent was the Garden of Eden. His plan was that mankind, whom He created in the image of Himself, would reflect His glory and would live in Paradise totally free from death and decay and free from any and all form of evil or destruction.
Iīm certain that you are all familiar with the story of Adam and Eve but I need to point out that it was way back there that īman blew itī but he has been blaming God ever since. Adam and Eve could walk and talk with God in the cool of the day. They were created to have intimate fellowship with God. The only stipulation was that they NOT eat of the īTree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.ī God said that if they did, they would die.
He did not specify that they would die immediately but by disobeying Godīs explicit command they opened the door to death and disease and all the other afflictions that have overtaken mankind ever since. The entire planet has been reaping the consequences of their behavior. Romans 8:22 says, "The whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now."
That was the bad news. The good news is that God had a plan from the beginning of time to remove the barrier created by sin which was erected between Him and His creation. That plan was to send Jesus to be a propitiation for our sinful fallen state. Jesus gave His life as a ransom for many. He became the sinless substitute that causes us to be reconciled with God. Accepting Christ and His righteousness places us in right standing with God and it thankfully procures our forgiveness.
Sin separated us from God and brought death through Adam but if we come to God by faith in Jesus Christ we receive forgiveness and His gift of eternal life. Because Jesus conquered sin and death and rose on the third day, we are made alive in Him. We are adopted into the family of God. He becomes our heavenly Father. We become heirs of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
Therefore, just as a human parent wants the best for his kids, our Father in heaven provides every good and perfect gift: love, joy, peace, healing and provision for our daily living. Jesus says in John 10:10, "I am come that you might have life, and that you might have it more abundantly." And again in 3rd John 1:2, "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health even as thy soul prospereth."
This is still not the end of the story. He also says that He has gone to prepare a place for us, a mansion in heaven where the streets are paved with gold and where He will wipe away our tears.
An even more exciting promise is, "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for those that love Him."
My prayer is that you will open your heart and ask the Lord Most High to become your Savior so that He can elevate you to be seated in Him at the right hand of God the Father, now and for all eternity.
