It is obvious that we are living in the closing days of time when a leader of a recognized Christian denomination appears on national television and makes an announcement that blatantly contradicts the Word of God.
This man, clearly displaying his clerical collar (who’s mandate by the way is supposed to be to contend for the faith and uphold the moral and spiritual standard of society) was recently on the evening news and announced that God has changed His mind and that He has now decided to allow and embrace and accept the homosexual lifestyle. He stated that their denomination has voted 118 to 53 in favor of changing their constitution in accordance with this new revelation and they are going to ordain practicing homosexuals.
I give no apologies when I say that God has not changed. Hebrews 13:8 states, ‘God is the same yesterday, today and forever’. What He called sin from the beginning of time is still sin today. That which He abhorred from the beginning He still detests today. His mandate has always been and will always be holiness and purity regardless of what any spiritual leader or denomination may decide to preach.
The next verse in Hebrews clearly warns us to not be carried about by different and varied and alien teachings. Yet many teach that we have entered the ‘Dispensation of Grace’ and that we are no longer under the law. They are right but in the old testament the law commanded that we were not to commit adultery but under grace we are instructed not to even "THINK" about it. Grace demands a higher standard, not a lower one. The consequences of sin, both temporal and eternal, remain unchanged. Not merely with homosexuality, but ANY sin. Grace is not a license to sin and those that profess to be followers of Christ but are living to please their carnal natures have not embraced the ‘whole counsel of God’ as it admonishes in Acts chapter 20. There the apostle Luke urges, ‘take care and be on guard for yourselves and the whole flock over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you bishops and guardians, to shepherd (tend and feed and guide) the church of God which He obtained for Himself with His own blood. For I know this, that after my departing savage wolves shall come in among you, not sparing the flock. Also from among your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things to draw away disciples after them. Therefore watch and be on alert and remember that for the space of three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears’. These are strong words but they are mingled with grace from a heart of love and come from a church leader who was passionately concerned for their souls.
The apostle Peter warned about false prophets who introduce destructive heresies and cause many to follow their sensuality. Another disciple, Paul, warned that there was another gospel being preached so he had no intention of using flattering words which please men but came boldly preaching the truth that was entrusted to Him by God.
The problem as I see it is that the definition of God has changed. People now have their own definition and opinion of Him. All churches believe in a ‘god’ but it is only a remnant that believe in ‘THE God that is revealed in Jesus Christ and Him crucified’. If our lives are not built on that constitution, then we will embrace whatever doctrine pleases and appeases us instead of acknowledging that He expects us to crucify our wrongful desires.
I am aware that people are free to choose any lifestyle they please. It is their prerogative. But now that the government of Canada has legalized same sex marriages, this issue has far more serious implications than we can image. Therefore as a minister of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, I need to make it very clear, before the laws are changed and I am no longer allowed to speak the truth, that God does not and will not ever accept or condone that lifestyle (or any other sin)
God has however, in His mercy, grace and love sent His son, Jesus Christ, to suffer a horrendous death, to be nailed upon a cross and to shed His precious blood so that those that have been entrapped by that sin can be set free so that they can taste true life.
‘The Lord knows how to rescue the godly from (any) temptation and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment’. 2 Peter 2:9
