A city full of people All running to and fro So much hurrying and scurrying They are constantly on the go They put up lights and decorate Their houses in and out But what I want to know my friend Is, whatīs it all about?
After driving to the shops and malls Buying gifts of every size Itīs somewhere on the trip back home That they come to realize That they have spent more than they should On all those toys and things Yet off theyīll go to get some more Seeking the pleasure they think it brings
They wrap each box with ribbon and bow And place it under the tree Hoping it is just the thing That will make Johnny squeal with glee Yet, I know something is missing And there is something very wrong They are humming the familiar tune But forgot the words to this most holy song
Itīs all about one special night Two thousand years ago The shepherds heard the wondrous news When angels let them know That in the town of Bethlehem On this very sacred day There beneath a shining star The Lord of Glory lay
A multitude of heavenly host Announced the glorious birth Of this tiny babe who was and is The Lord of heaven and earth He came to show each one of us Godīs everlasting love. Heīs the image of His Father Sent to us from heaven above He is the Savior of the world And came to set us free He broke the chains of sin and death For all eternity Now we can sleep in total peace For His Agape love surrounds us So let us celebrate this time of year By focusing on the Lord, Christ Jesus.
