BEWARE THAT YOU ARE NOT EMBRACING DOCTRINES OF DEMONS
It doesn’t take superior intelligence to realize that if the apostle Paul repeated something again and again and again that obviously he was greatly concerned about the matter. This particular subject was just a crucial to Jesus who also reiterated at every opportunity that we are to beware, that we are to be on guard and for us to not be deceived. Since they both warned repeatedly about deception, the only reasonable conclusion is that we, the church, can be easily lead astray. I hope you concur.
Not only can we be easily lead astray; the actual statement in the second book of Thessalonians is that there will be a great falling away in this present generation. The books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and Corinthians have many such warnings about false prophets arising and misleading many.
I would much rather write an article that would bless you, entertain you and make you laugh but I feel commissioned by God, as Paul was when he stated, "I will not shrink from declaring unto you the whole counsel of God."
The Lord has been showing me the spiritual state of the church. God is exposing people’s spiritual condition and He is drawing a line of demarcation between false prophets and the true and between the sheep and the goats. I became sadly aware that angels are being sent forth to separate the wheat from the tares. Scripture calls them reapers. They are about to bind up the tares and throw them into the fire. The time is now for God’s people to choose whom they truly serve, the one true living God, or a god of their own making.
God strongly impressed upon me, "Warn them, warn them and keep warning them." Therefore I ask that you read the entire book of Jude which deals with false teachers who tell people that they can do as thy please and tells what the horrific fate of those teachers will be. Then Jude admonishes us to ‘build up ourselves in the most holy faith and save some by snatching them as from the very flames of hell itself’. There is still time.
Paul wrote Timothy about what was coming upon our generation and said, "But the Spirit of God explicitly says that in later times some in the church will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirit and doctrines of demons."
Let me shed some light on the matter. There are many deceptions that have blinded believers such as reading horoscopes and Chinese fortune cookies, magicians, Christian rock music and much more. One of the most recent deceptions to come upon the scene is Harry Potter and those that teach that it is acceptable reading material instead of warning that it opens up children’s curiosity to witchcraft and makes witchcraft look harmless and appealing. At least in Snow White the wicked witch was depicted as evil and did not encourage children to become witches and warlocks. The author of Harry Potter though is openly seeped in occultic practices and philosophy and her web site directs children to literal and very blatant occult links.
I challenge you to go and read God’s Word for yourself so that nobody can deceive you with their ‘anything-and-everything-is-acceptable’ theology. Find out what God has to say on the subject of abominations and how He forbids us to even inquire about other gods and pagan practices much less be entertained by them. As a matter of fact, study and see what God Himself calls ‘holy’ and what He considers ‘profane’. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you the gift of discerning of spirits and if you still are not certain, then please trust those that are able to discern. It is better to err on the side of caution than to have God declare to you, "Depart from me, you that work iniquity."
These are strong words, but if I fail to warn you than I might as well pack up my toys and go home and stay home and not call myself a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ and of God. I choose instead to stick my neck out and place my head on the chopping block and cry out with the apostles and prophets of today, "It is the god of this world who is blinding the eyes of those that are perishing and deceiving even the children of God. Beware, do not be deceived!"
My prayer is that this article has stirred you up enough to seek God about these matters and even many others that aren’t quite as serious but are just as harmful to our spiritual welfare. Then turn back to the book of Jude which concludes with a very encouraging promise, "Now all glory to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to make you stand in His glorious presence."
